We really enjoyed our stay.Very welcoming, friendly and clean B and B.Delighted with our room.

Ailsa and Dean were exceptionally friendly and helpful-wonderful hosts! Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean and we had a very happy stay at the Old Station.

Came up for a wedding and had a lovely stay at the Old Station B&B. The hosts were friendly and the B&B itself was clean and included all the essential amenities. Breakfast was fresh and very filling! Would definitely come again if in the area (but would bring/ use a car if staying here given its location, as the cost for taxis do quickly add up!).

We stopped two nights on our way back from a holiday around Scotland. Such a lovely B and B. Clean, tidy and beautifully presented room. A quiet location which was perfect for us to get a restful nights sleep. There’s a sitting room to watch TV of an evening if you wish and a free pool table which was great. Lovely breakfasts too. The owners and staff were most attentive and very helpful. If we return to St Andrews, we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

What a wonderful few days my cousin and I had at the Old Station B&B. Super location, comfortable room, lovely breakfast and such friendly hosts. We could not fault it, would definitely recommend it. We will definitely be back if you’ll have us x

We have stayed in many BB’s of the years ,this is on our list for one of the best .The room was big ,with a large bath/shower room .Own sit out area with chairs and table.Great choice of breakfast, continental choices and cooked menu.Host very welcoming and the facilities are there for the use of guests ,pool table ,lounge with sky Tv, variousgames and books to enjoy.One issue ,couldn’t fill the bath as water pressure was low ,and rain shower has a similar problem , but the hand held shower works well .Thank you

Had a lovely 2-night stay. Beautiful grounds to relax in with seated areas surrounding the building. Ideal for a 10 minute taxi into St Andrews (cost £10/12). Breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice from hot/cold food. A wee bit early with a 9am cut off but no issue when you arrive at 08.50 !! Lovely staff - very friendly and helpful. Would definitely use again.

Lovely secluded and relaxing setting with Welcoming friendly owners. The railway carriage was ideal having a sitting room with a kitchen if required. Very comfortable bedroom with decent sized wardrobe.

Lovely B&B just outside St. Andrews. Owners are very helpful with suggestions what to do, where to book tee off times etc.Very nice gardens and the room in the old train carriage is extremely cosy. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent.

Enjoyed our two nights at the Old Station. Unique B & B. Next time we will stay in the train car suites. They looked amazing. Hosts were very friendly and provided great humor and stories of the area. Rooms were great and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommended if you don't want to stay downtown in St Andrews or at one of the large resorts. Most of all very close to Anstruther and Crail. Two beautiful coastal small towns.

We did not expect sleeping in a train waggon. It was fantastic, cool location, privacy with the extra „kick“. More than recommendable!

We stayed in the railway carriage for a few nights. It was very comfortable and full of character. The breakfast was excellent and out hosts Dean and Ailsa very welcoming and friendly. A few minutes drive into St. Andrews makes it an ideal location.

This B&B was excellent and Ailsa and Dean were excellent hosts too. They allowed us to treat their B&B as home from home and the cooked breakfast in the morning was prepared to order.I would highly recommend this B&B to the extent that we will be back again.5 star

My wife and spent two wonderful days at the Old Station Guest House where Ailsa & Dean were the perfect hosts! The old main building is renovated extremely well to replicate the old train station! Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast is full and hearty. Great way to start the day. We stayed in the main house (which we loved) but for railway buffs the opportunity to stay in the converted train carriage would be a highlight! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed being looked after by the owner, his wife and his family. They are very professional and put a lot of effort into giving guests an original experience.We even got to see the Northern Lights at no extra charge!

Ailsa and Dean hosted us in April at their renovated Old Train Station.We chose the Railway Carriage Suite, separate from the main building. It was unique, quiet, beautifully decorated and close to the station itself, where we had delicious breakfasts.Recommendations for dinners near by were excellent, and as we had no car, taxis were quick to come, and inexpensive, ordered by our hosts.Would love to come back.Great for golfers.They have their own practice putting hole.

This is perfect for any visit to St Andrews. The location is great, very quiet and only 5 minutes by car into the centre where there is plenty of car parking. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was excellent, I would recommend this B&B to anyone.Thank you

I visited with my daughter and we felt very much at home from the moment we arrived. A warm welcome, cosy well-appointed bedroom and delicious breakfast. Even a resident's lounge and pool table available for guests to use. So easy to pop into town - great local taxi services available if required. Really couldn't ask for more! We had a wonderful stay in the railway car at this cute B+B. It was a fun and unique experience to spend the night in a railway car. This accommodation had everything we needed. It was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast served in the morning was delicious. The lobby area in the main accommodation was welcoming and the grounds of the property were very nicely maintained.

Ailsa & Dean couldn’t have been more accommodating, our party stayed 2 nights as we were attending a wedding at Falside Mill.All the rooms were of an excellent standard and the railway carriages were far better than we could have imagined.The breakfast was also excellent.Outside spaces along with the residents lounge are a brilliant extra, they make the stay even more enjoyable.Thank you both for a lovely weekend.Graeme & Kim Wilson.

We were attending a family wedding at the Combo Estate so used the Guest House as a base. Everything was perfect ; excellent rooms and facilities, lovely friendly staff, a beautiful setting and great breakfast.

A beautiful quirky B&B, our accommodation was a converted railway carriage which was just up our street and located 5 mins. outside St. Andrews. Owners were unfailingly polite and helpful and breakfast was excellent. When we return to St. Andrews this is where we will stay.

What a wonderful guest house. From the moment we arrived, Ailsa and Dean were so accommodating. We arrived about 7 PM and hadn't eaten. They booked us a table at the local pub and called us a cab. The food and service were great, BTW. Then they showed us to our accommodations - we stayed in the antique railcar that has been converted into two suites - so comfy and cozy! Breakfast was delicious with many hot and cold options. We can't recommend The Old Station enough!

We stayed here for a night whilst travelling to St Andrews for a wedding. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating (we arrived early and were given access to our room to allow us to get changed before the wedding). The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were lovely. The building is very unique and the attention to detail was just perfect, would definitely stay again!

We stayed just the one night at the old station whilst attending a family wedding nearby. From start to finish it was an excellent stay! The old station is absolutely beautiful inside and out, our room was perfectly presented, clean, fresh with little touches that gave the comfort of home. Breakfast was excellent - a lovely selection of cereals, fresh fruit etc with a well cooked option to finish. All served with a friendly face and big smile 😊 - thank you so much x

Our second stay at the Old Station B&B, and we felt very welcome and comfortable.Everything looks well cared-for, and our room was clean and spacious - a big bed and lots of storage space. It was nice to have our own key to the front door so that we weren't worried about getting back by a certain time.Parking is so easy compared to staying in St Andrews, but it is a very short ride away and there's a nice view of the town and coast laid out before you as you drive in.Breakfast was lovely - fresh fruit, cereal and yogurt or a delicious cooked breakfast on offer.We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at The Old Station B&B (for the third time) just last week. They have scrumptious breakfasts, cozy accommodations (the beds are amazingly!), quiet surroundings and the ultimate in room experiences: lovely rooms within a converted train car!! Highly recommended!!

We stayed here as we had a wedding.The owner was very welcoming and friendly. She was very attentive but also gave us the space we needed.The rooms were really nice.The bed is the comfiest bed I have ever slept on.The grounds were beautiful and we were able to sit out and enjoy the surroundings.We would definitely stay there again.

The Old Station House is a former railway station on the Anstruther and St Andrews Railway. It was known as Stravithie Station. It was closed to passengers in 1930 however the line remained operational until 1965.Accommodation includes a former British Rail Mk 1 railway carriage which has been converted into 2 suites. We stayed in the railway carriage which was great fun, a very different but enjoyable experience.The hosts Ailsa and Dean are lovely people who make their guests feel very welcome.Breakfast excellent!St Andrews is very close too, approx. 5-10 mins drive.We highly recommend staying here!

Staff was amazing,very charming and we really enjoyed the history of the hotel. Not far from St Andrews, was great to get away to and from the city. Room was great, very private. Breakfast was amazing.

The train car was really fantastic! It was just a neat experience overall. Breakfast was great and the hosts were available if we needed anything or just wanted to sit and visit with them! Everything was clean and tidy. We absolutely would stay here again.

Clean and welcoming with a good breakfast and a great location for your stay in the East of Fife, 5 minutes from St Andrew's and probably 12-15 golf courses within 20 minutes.

We have stayed at The Old Station a few times now but this was our first time in the carriage suite, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alyssa and Dean are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to make sure you feel perfectly relaxed and at home, I’m sure it will not be long before we return.

This accommodation is ideally located, sitting just outside St Andrews.The room was tastefully furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. Dean gave us a very warm welcome and was the perfect host. We followed his tip to try the Tailend fish and chip shop in St Andrews ….delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfast too.We would certainly return if ever in the area.

Excellent location, facilities and customer service

We arrived late and had to leave early, and what a shame! Ailsa and Dean were warm and welcoming, the rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was substantial and good. The grounds were also lovely, and when we return (because I'm sure we will), we'll take a look around & hopefully get a chance to stay in the train car rooms!

I booked the old station for myself, my husband and relatives from Canada. We all loved the location and Ailsa was the perfect hostess!The accommodation was clean and decorated beautifully.My Canadian niece and husband stayed in the railway carriage and were blown away with the idea. It was fitted out so well..they’re taking the idea back to Canada with them!The breakfast was great..and Ailsa catered for vegan guests!I would definitely recommend this fabulous B and B..it ticked every box. We spent 4 nights in the train and enjoyed the experience. Everything was very compact but warm and comfortable and we liked having a separate sitting room. The owners are very friendly and make lovely freshly cooked breakfasts. The location is very handy for exploring St Andrews and the surrounding area.

Great location close to St Andrew’s. Comfortable rooms with good facilities. Breakfast v good. Good Wi-Fi connection. Car parking and peaceful.Only downside squeaky floor boards but a small price to pay for a v pleasant place to stay.

Loved the Holy Island, very interesting place. Like many other businesses the Manor House was short of staff but we didn’t really notice. The staff were very friendly, the hotel clean, simple but nice rooms. The food was good and fresh and would recommend.

We so enjoyed our stay at The Old Station B&B. We stayed in the caboose, which gave us the feeling of glamping in the woods. It was cozy with it’s own sitting room and porch for resting after a day of golf or touring. The main building is beautiful and the breakfast delicious! Ailsa and Neal were perfect hosts.

Loved our stay at The Old Station B&B.We were in the area for a family wedding and this was an ideal place to stay.We had a ground floor room to suit my elderly mother and it was just perfect - it had a door out to the garden and a wee table and chair outside and was able to park the car right outside.Beds were very comfy and breakfast in the mornings was tasty and plentiful.Staff very friendly and chatty.Have passed on the details to my daughter and husband for future stays in this lovely area and we will be back as soon as possible haha..

We were made to feel so welcome on our arrival and throughout our short stay, nothing was too much hassle including recommending where to see in both St Andrews and the surrounding area. The house is lovely and comfortable, we especially liked the fact that it's an old disused railway station, including a fantastic old carriage, would love to return staying in there one day!

The Old Statiom B&B is quite unique in several ways.1. Cleanliness and attention to detail. From the room, en-suite and in fact the entire public areas are spotless.2. Grounds are kept neat and tidy with an array of local wild-life chowing to inhabit this local sanctuary.3. Breakfast is hot and cooked to order. Locally sourced produce that proves fresh is best. A great selection awaits you and ample tea and coffee is served to your table.4. Hosts. Both Dean and Ailsa could not be more assistive. They run a professional high quality establishment with a great atmosphere in the public lounge and pool room. From booking us a taxi to supplying a safety pin nothing was too much trouble.I would not hesitate to return and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone traveling to St Andrews.

My husband and son spent 3 nights here in June and loved it.They had a comfortable room and the breakfasts were outstanding!They are located close to town but are in a quiet and peaceful setting.Hosts were super friendly and kind.Ailsa was very helpful in answering questions before the trip and making recommendations regarding dinner reservations and things to do in the area.Highly recommend!

We were made to feel very welcome. The room was great and the bed very comfortable. Ailsa and Dean were very flexible in providing breakfast earlier than the scheduled time, as we had to get to our son’s graduation . The breakfast was delicious. Can’t thank them enough for making what could have been a stressful whirlwind stay a delight. Thank you!

The Old Station B&B is in a quiet location, only a few minutes drive outside St Andrews. The room was clean, the towels beautiful and white and there were tea & coffee making facilities in the room with nice biscuits. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming.

We stayed in the railway carriage. It was so comfy!! The breakfast is something else - fabulous Scottish strawberries and juicy blueberries followed by a really well cooked and generously portioned full English. This is the 3rd time we've been and hopefully we'll be back in the not too distant future!

Visited St. Andrews to attend a wedding. The Old Station is in a great location , plenty of parking in lovely grounds. We stayed in the converted carriage which we loved. Large comfortable bed with en suite shower room, cosy lounge with everything you would need. The hosts Ailse and Dean were very welcoming and friendly. Hearty breakfasts cooked to perfection- nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend staying here - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Delightful. A clean, comfortable, quiet room and excellent breakfast. I had a mishap on the way, and Ailsa the proprietor was extremely kind and helpful with that, really going above and beyond the call of duty. The railway carriage looks good - if I come with someone next time, I'd like to stay in the carriage!

We required a one night stay as we were playing golf around St.Andrews. The B&B was perfectly located for easy access into St. Andrews and the accommodation proved more than adequate. We received a warm friendly welcome had a good nights sleep and excellent breakfast. Highly recommended for anybody visiting the area.

Stayed in the Railway Carriage as a birthday treat. Absolutely loved it. Really quirky spotlessly clean and we had an absolute ball. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of everything you could want. Location is very quiet and peaceful but only 10mins away from St Andrews. Just perfect.

We stayed for one night in the train carriage- 4 girls celebrating Mums 70th. We had such a fabulous time- the train carriage’s were so nicely styled and private, the beds comfy - the shower powerful and enough room for us to lounge in the sitting area. Dean and Ailsa couldn’t do enough for us and we would definitely return - maybe with the rest of our family - oh and also the breakfast was super yummy. Until next time xxx

This is an excellent B & B where we experienced first class service. A great location just outside St Andrews with easy access to the town. The accommodation was excellent and breakfast was everything you could want. Our hosts were extremely friendly, sociable and helpful all the way through our stay. We will be back in the furture.

Had a 2 night stay in the Railway Carriage which was fab very unique and quaint. Loved how its been converted into a living space and bedroom. Just a couple of suggestions for the carriage the wicker seats are not comfortable to sit on for a long period I think maybe a couple of nice comfy armchairs would work better both our backs were sore from sitting on them we spent quite a while in the lounge area. The mattress in the bed is needing replaced felt every spring not firm enough. But on a whole we loved it if those two things were rectified I would definitely come back. Hosts were lovely and we played pool one night which passed the time and was most enjoyable even though I got thrashed by my husband! Breakfast was lovely but felt there could have been slightly more options on the cooked side. Potato scones and hash browns would have been nice. We had a lovely stay and loved St Andrews this was our first time visiting it there very exciting.

A last minute booking and we were delighted with our stay.Friendly owners, clean and tidy with a Scottish breakfast as well as continental options.St Andrews about 5 minutes by car.As the owners are locals they had a wide knowledge of places to eat and parking spots.The residents lounge was spacious and cosy.We would stay again.

I was travelling with my teenager daughter, we stayed one night. Despite arriving very late, Dean was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, and comfortable, especially the large bed. Breakfast was cooked to order, all fresh and we really enjoyed it. They made us feel very welcome. We had lots of questions about the Town and they happily chatted to us, all positive information. If we are lucky enough to visit St Andrews again, I would love to stay again at The Old Station. Thank you.

Cleverly converted old railway station, very comfortable

We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming host. The Station House was warm and exceptionally clean. Breakfasts were great and we will certainly recommend to friends visiting St Andrews.

We stayed in one of the two train carriage suites. It was great value for such a big and well designed space. The suit had lovely views of the neighbouring field but was only a few minutes drive from the centre of St. Andrews, so ideal for enjoying some peace and quiet as well as the city.

We booked a 2 night break in this lovely establishment just outside St Andrews.First contact with the owner was at the ' Ticket Office' in the entrance lobby!We were warmly welcomed. Our room was cosy, the bed was comfortable and the ensuite pristine. The decor was all in keeping with an old station. I loved it. The breakfasts were delicious with Continental and Scottish on offer. Other guests loved staying in the carriages. The one downside we felt was that the sound proofing between rooms was not good, affecting conversations etc

I booked an overnight stay in the railway carriage at the old station for my partner's 50th birthday as she is a lover of all things railway/train related. The location is stunning, beautiful main house and immaculate gardens and we received a very warm welcome. The railway carriage suite was beautiful in every way, we had the slightly larger of the two carriage suites which also contains a small kitchen area. The lounge and bedroom were very cosy and comfortable. My partner said at one point she would happily live here and I have to agree.Breakfast was served in the main house, very attentive hosts and the full breakfast was cooked to perfection, also a wide variety of cereals, pastries etc was available. I couldn't fault the old station guest house in any way, we enjoyed a fantastic 5 star stay and would absolutely recommend a visit here.

My husband, daughter and I spent a relaxing couple of nights at the Old Station Guest House. We had a warm welcome from Ailsa and Dean - who also gave us ideas of places to eat. The room was very clean and comfortable and the large garden is beautiful - We enjoyed sitting there in the evening sun. We'd highly recommend a stay here!

We stayed only one night at this charming guest house bur wished we could have stayed longer! Dean, the owner, met us on arrival with a very warm welcome and gave us a little history about the place. It used to be an old railway station house before being renovated many years ago. Our room was small but cozy and the bed was delightfully comfortable. Bathroom was amazing with a very relaxing rainfall shower ???? Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was modest but tasty, held in a lovely brightly lit area that used to be part of the original railway station. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely garden and at night you see so many stars! Being about 5 min away from the city Center (by car), there’s little light pollution and you get the feeling that you’re far away from everything. Quiet, tranquil and very peaceful. We loved our time there and will definitely be back. Highly, highly recommend!!!

A very comfortable and characterful place to stay in the heart of rural Fife, surrounded by trees. Owners and staff charming. Spacious room, tastefully decorated, under the eaves. Very quiet and awoken by bird song. Excellent breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit. Only wished there were somewhere closer than St Andrew’s for dinner.

Chose this B &B to use as a base as my Son (8) and I explored the local area. Not disappointed. Lovey and clean rooms and friendly atmosphere created from the owners and staff. Breakfast was amazing and fuelled us up for the day. Kept my son happy playing on the pool table along with some ping pong at the end of the day. Nice area for a kick about outside too to run off some energy. Was lucky to move to one of the carriage rooms for an extra night as a treat too. Definitely not one to miss ????

Me and my husband stayed here at the weekend. We stayed in the train carriage. All I can say is it was absolutely stunning. The whole ambience of the place was so relaxing. There is a huge garden with seating, goal net, putting etc. Although it is 5 minutes from st andrews town centre in a taxi, we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere within a tranquil setting. The owners are just lovely people, nothing was a trouble to them. The cooked breakfast was to die for. I would 1 million percent recommend this to anyone. We will be back. Top class weekend:)

Accommodation was very good. Plenty of parking . Breakfast was perfect and Owners were clearly made for being great hosts . Staff also excellent. We had our 5 year old Grandson with us and he didn’t want to leave.

Absolutely top notch. The accommodation ( train carriage ) has been converted to offer a unique experience. Hosts Ailsa and Dean plus Noreen were superb attending to all our needs especially dietary, plus offering valuable advice regarding golf at St Andrews. Came to stay with partner for 2 days while we attended wedding in area. Lovely hotel and staff. Lots of features to keep all guest types satisfied. Breakfast was good however Only suggestion would be for more vegetarian suggestions in cooked side. But 100% would stay again!

Well if you don't stay here then you have missed a trick. Ailsa and her family made us all so welcome and she makes a fantastic breakfast. Spacious and clean rooms. Our parents stayed in the downstairs large bedroom with disabled facilities and loved it. Our adult kids shared a large room upstairs and we had the train carriage which was fabulous, quaint and quirky. Only 5 mins in car to the town centre and less than £10 in a taxi. We will definitely stay here again.

We found this lovely Guest House quite by chance and were very impressed by the photos of the site etc. We booked just one night as it was my Wife's Birthday and we wanted to do something different. The owners have a charming setting in a very nice location, quiet, peaceful and you think you are right out in the country, but only a few miles from the centre of St. Andrews. We will almost certainly be back at some time in the future.The Guest House was very comfortable, rooms spacious and all the facilities first class, and a most enjoyable breakfast in the morning.

We booked the railway carriage suite as a treat and it definitely was! The location is gorgeous and the carriage is beautifully styled, very comfortable and sparkling clean. Breakfast was very good too. Altogether a delight!

Sadly we were only here for one night but nevertheless enjoyed a very comfortable room, the spacious garden areas situated away from any disturbance and a very tasty breakfast. Wow! We stayed here for a night for our 10th wedding anniversary. What a great ideas for a self contained overnighter! Given the current restrictions, the train carriage was ideal. We could go out for lunch and settle in at night with some cheese, biscuits and Prosecco. The carriage was perfectly equipped, although a decent bread knife or sharp of any sort in kitchen would have been great. Breakfast was great as well. Proper coffee In the morning was highlight. The owners were really friendly and chatty. Totally exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be back and have recommended it to anybody who’ll listen!!

Fantastic hosts in a beautiful spot. Warm comfy room, good breakfast. We enjoyed a couple of games of pool too. Slight issue with no water at all one morning for our shower, but within a couple of minutes it did come through.

Just stayed two nights at the Old Station B&B outside St Andrew’s. First impressions - spotlessly clean and safe environment. Welcoming host, Dean, who gave clear instructions on Covid procedures etc.Very well appointed bedroom and en-suite with everything you could need provided. Warm and comfortable.Had a beautiful breakfast each morning and Ailsa and Noreen couldn’t do enough for us.No question we would go back.

We loved everything about the Old Station guest house!As soon as we arrived we felt very welcome and at home. The house is beautiful and clean andthe staff very friendly . We hope to return and will certainly recommend.

We stayed in the train carriage which was lovely, very nice little lounge area, kitchen, bedroom with large comfy bed and shower room with lots of hot water. Hosts were also very welcoming and breakfast was plentiful.

We stayed at the Old Station hotel station hotel for a few days in the summer.Despite the challenges COVID 19 created Elsa and Dean were on hand to attend to our needs in the best hygienic way whilst ensuring adequate measures were in place and regularly keeping us updated of any changes.Breakfast was a delight (especially the omelette).The rooms are a decent size and place was clean at all times with hand sanitisers at various station. The garden provided a relaxation spot in the evenings and a good play area for the kids.We totally enjoyed our stay it was home away from home!

Extremely comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. The sun shone and we enjoyed sitting in the immaculate gardens. Breakfast was great and hosts lovely and friendly. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Felt very safe during this pandemic with everything spotlessly clean and all staff wearing PPE. We will return to stay in the railway carriage suite which is quirky.

We had a lovely two nights in the train carriage. Having the lounge in the car was fab & made it feel like a home away from home. It was super clean, and you could tell all COVID regulations were being adhered too.The pool table & things to do in the garden were a nice extra.Lovely breakfast. Stayed on several occasions in the past, this being our first under the new owners. Everything as expected and the standard of the whole place has been improved.

We had an excellent weekend here. The owners are lovely people who made us feel welcome from the start. We stayed in the converted train carriage which was beautiful, comfy and romantic. The food is much better than average Guest House breakfasts. We will definitely be back here

We stayed at the Old Station between Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th July 2020. The facility was beautiful and quaint, the location ideal, the grounds were wonderful and the staff fantastic. Working under difficult circumstances during the Covid-19 crisis, the staff did everything they could to make our stay safe and enjoyable and were completely accommodating from the point of booking. Would definitely go back there.

We received a very friendly welcome and were excited to be staying in the train carriage. With our 8 year old daughter, we had our dinner in the beautiful garden followed by a game of pool. Our carriage was very comfortable and in the morning we had an excellent breakfast following exploring the gardens and playing a bit of football. The surroundings are so peaceful and pretty and the hosts made us feel really welcome. We recommend a night in a train carriage!

There were 4 of us having a couple of nights away. Our belated Christmas presents to each other and we did well choosing The Old Station B&B. It was perfect. Very welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home, which is what they aim to do. We had a lovely decorated double room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Good size en suite with a large shower. Very clean and nice towels and toiletries. We had a good breakfast, helping ourselves to the buffet of fresh fruit, yogurts and cereals. Cooked breakfast to follow, which was very well cooked. Local bacon and eggs and all was very tasty, plenty of toast, tea and coffee. Set us up for the day.Very comfortable lounge area and a little games room with a pool table, which was made use of. Also the glasses in the display cabinet for the drinks we brought with us.All in all a very nice couple of nights away and we would definitely like to go back again for another couple of nights away. It would be lovely to use the train carriage, maybe the next time.Thank you for having us.

We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit the St Andrews area. Also it’s only 2.5 miles from The Old Station to the centre of St Andrews. We will be staying there again in the future.

We received a warm welcome from our hosts, who kindly provided us with fresh milk for our tea.The room was cozy, with a very comfortable bed. The shower unit was a wee bit small, but adequate. The breakfast provided us with a good start to the day, but the dining area was a bit on the cool side.We experienced a little bit of car trouble during our break, but the hosts were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction to get it sorted.The Old Station House is set in very well kept grounds,the location was perfect, and the sun shone too.

I needed a base to explore Fife. Searching on line I was intrigued by the railway carriages. I stayed in a lovely double room in the old station house which was very comfortable and immaculately clean. After a busy day exploring I was able to relax in the visitor's lounge. The Scottish breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, piping hot and fresh. I would definitely book again.

Bought as a gift. The feedback was that: on approach on a rainy day (in the spirit of being honest and balanced) the carraige didn't look appealing on first glance and they were a bit worried this was their accomodation. Once in and settled, they found the inside of the carrraige to be nice, clean, great amenities (the kitchenette with plenty coffee etc). They found the grounds and main building to be lovely. They enjoyed the lounge and pool table. They thought the breakfast was brilliant (which is why we booked this, as many hotels just offer continental) and service was great. They had a relaxed and fun stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have been traveling for months, and travel extensively as a lifestyle. Both work and pleasure. We found The Old Station to be a very refreshing and pleasant change from the usual. The owners are genuine, warm, enjoyable people. Highly recommend.

Super location for exploring the whole area. Easy drive to St Andrews, Crail, Anstruther and Elie. Beautiful grounds with some seating outside. The room was on the ground floor and was lovely, clean and spacious. Peaceful shared lounge and activity room with a pool table adds a home from home feel. Our original reservation was to be in the train car, which is adorable, but the weather was very hot for Scotland and the room was too hot. The hosts kindly gave us another room inside. We enjoyed the games in the sitting room and breakfast was great.

Highly recommend staying here.We stayed in the carriage, it’s immaculate and well equipped with everything you will need for a holiday break.You have breakfast over in the b&b which is also an amazing place, and amazing food.Everything you can think of for breakfast is available and cooked fresh for you.The owners and staff look after you extremely well and make you feel very much at home.The gardens surrounding the accommodation are well kept and they layout is great.Lots of lovely trees and plants.There’s also a free pool table for you to enjoy in the games room along with plenty books, dvds and board games.We will definitely be staying again.

Nice, quiet location close to St Andrews. Stayed in the railway carriage suite and found it quite unique and had all the facilities that you would require even for a longer stay. Staff excellent.

I had a lovely American couple staying over night. The next day they spoke so highly of the accommodation and the couple who run the old station. The room was well maintained, large, warm and comfortable. The shower and toilet were exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. When they return with their family next year they want to stay here again

We had a very nice stay at this guest house while attending a wedding nearby. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. We will definitely be back as this accommodation provides an excellent base for which to explore St Andrews and the surrounding areas.

We Stayed in the carriage for three nights in the middle of Febuary, very warm and cosy, kitchen was a great bonus. We used the the pool table every night which was lots of fun also borrowed a couple DVDs and books from the library. Breakfast was cooked for us exactly how we wanted it and was delicious. The owners were very friendly and great hosts. Highly recommended staying in the carriage.

We booked this B&B as we were taking relatives who were over from the USA to St Andrews for a golfing holiday.Our room was very comfortable, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and kettle. Toiletries in bathroom and nice big fluffy white towels.Breakfast was a feast, if you go away hungry then it’s your own fault!Help yourself to cereals, yogurts, croissants and 2 huge bowls of blueberries and strawberries plus juice. A cooked breakfast to follow and toast sets you up until dinner that evening.Alisa is a lovely pleasant lady very keen to accommodate. The bonus there is free parking which is non excustant in the town!It’s about a 5-8 minute drive into St.Andrews

Had a fabulous time here and the service was out of this world, we were well looked after.

We stayed in the railway carriage unit for the ladies British women's open golf open and had a wonderful stay. The kitchen in the unit enabled us to self cater allows us to relax after four long days out on the golf course. Colin and his wife Fiona were great hosts, the unit was warm and comfortable with a excellent daily breakfast.

We had a train carriage suite with all mod cons which was comfortable and fun. Friendly welcome when we arrived and excellent breakfast each morning.Highly recommended.

Great experience. Sleeping in the old train is extraordinary. The host is very nice, very gentle and was even able to book a table for us on a late Friday night in a great restaurant. If you plan to go to St-Andrews or in the neighborhood, you should definitely stay in the Old Station B&B.

This is he 2nd time I've stayed in the railway carriage and the welcome was excellent.. The train carriage is really quirky and we wanted somewhere unusual to stay as heading out to The Adamson for dinner.. St Andrews is gorgeous and really great to walk around... Breakfast was lovely and the host was very chatty although did forget our morning cup of tea with breakfast... He only thing that spoilt this visit was hat in the other carriage we had a couple with a child who ran about shouting and also cried from just after 7am on Sunday morning which continued on until breakfast around 9.15... Not sure I would take he gamble again and stay here as it really did ruin a relaxing stay.. THe walls between the 2 suites are quite flimsy and unfortunately we did not get much sleep after that which was a shame given the great hosts and location

Well I kept it a surprise for my husbands bthday and we weren't disappointed so lovely and very unique. I asked for a certain named bottle of plonk to be added to the room which they gladly suplied. A lovely place to stay and def will recommend.We ate at the Grange which was also outstanding x

We stayed at the Old Station Guesthouse 12th & 13th September in the Carriage Suite with the kitchen. Definitely a unique experience and our young daughter was very excited to be "living in the choo choo train" Quite tight for room with the travel cot up but we were aware it would be before our stay. It suited us better to have the kitchen to make the kids supper etc. Kitchen was fine and the cooker and appliances were all modern. Very friendly hosts and very gentle dogs Zack and Cody who our daughter loved. Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning and great selection of fruit, cereals and breads.Loved every minute of our stay and would definitely return!Many thanksRoss, Carly, Chloe & Connor

Fabulous place to stay. Wonderful Hosts. Clean, comfortable rooms. A great area downstairs for a little R&R at the end of a long day and one of the best breakfasts of the trip.

As a frequent traveller around the coasts of Scotland, it's a pleasure to stay at a new location and sample the hospitality and surroundings. I would highly recommend a stay at The Old Station. We were made very welcome and made to feel very comfortable by the owners, Gordon and Fiona. A superb guesthouse amidst beautiful and peaceful countryside surroundings, 5 minutes drive from St Andrews town centre. I will most definitely pay a return visit. A very highly recommended guesthouse.

Excellent accommodations and breakfast. Collin was great helping us with a tee time at a local course.

Just spent the one night however the accommodation and breakfast were first class. Lovely gardens and a beautiful view from the breakfast room. It did help that we had the most fantastic weather.

We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay in the Africa Room (a free upgrade from our originally booked room). Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent and the location, within proximity of all those wonderful golf courses and pretty fishing villages, was also excellent. Our stay was very pleasant. The only negative thing I have to comment on is not having some sort of shelving in the shower to put anything!

The Old Station B&B is a 6-minute drive from the St. Andrews golf course. Lovely grounds and a quaint facility in a renovated and expanded former RR station. Our hostess, Fiona was wonderful and bent over backwards to help us with our travel plans.

Colin was an awesome host. He was friendly with everyone. The breakfast was great with him taking orders for how you wanted eggs cooked and what meats you wanted. The room was clean comfortable and very nice. The area was lovely in the country but do close to St. Andrews.

A beautiful guest house in a stunning location.My parents and I spent a lovely two night stay here from Sunday to Tuesday and couldn't have asked for better.The Old Station is in a lovely countryside location, situated in an ideal spot for exploring St Andrews (10 minute drive) and the small villages along the Fife coast.The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything you would need from a fridge to sweets with your coffee.The grounds and public areas are welcoming and peaceful too with so many types of different birds, which dad enjoyed pointing out as we watched them feed through the conservatory during our fantastic breakfast.When we arrived we were welcomed by the most wonderful host anyone could have wished for, kind, friendly and accommodating every need, even to the extent of serving coffee to the rest of our family (another 9 people) when they arrived for a day out on the Monday...thank you once again Fiona for your kind hospitality.We left feeling very relaxed and pleased with our stay, would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We stayed in the carriage suite and we couldn't recommend it enough. The way the space was used was ingenious and the carriage was incredibly comfortable and furnished to a really high standard. We were on a driving tour of Scotland so we welcomed having a kitchen in the carriagewhich meant we could unwind in our suite rather than have to go out for dinner. Breakfast is provided in the main houses and was of excellent quality - it was also lovely to have fresh fruit available as well as a cooked breakfast.Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We chose to stay in the Scottish Room at the Old Station. We were given a warm welcome by Fiona and the room was both comfortable and attractive. There was a good choice at breakfast and Colin was helpful in advice about taxis and where to go in St Andrews. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay there again.

Cant really fault this lovely B&B. We stayed in the carrige which was nicely fitted out with everything you could ask for. The only thing I could really say was it was not warm, the bedroom was cosy but the small sitting room was chilli but it is February! Overall it was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. I would definately recommend this B&B.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Old Station B&B and enjoyed it immensely.Fiona and Colin are excellent hosts, and the B&B itself is well-furnished and comfortable--and in a beautiful setting.Highly recommend!

We had a very relaxing three day stay at the old station.The weather was dreadful but it was really nice to sit in the lounge in front of the log fire reading and drinking coffee. John andJanette were excellent stand in hosts. The only minor complaint, or grouse, was that breakfast being between 8 and 8-30 was a little early.We would definitely stay here again.

The carriage in itself was very nice as was the rest of the facilities, i.e. the guest lounge, hostess was very friendly but only having a half hour slot from 8.30 to 9am for breakfast in the morning, particularly a Sunday morning, was unacceptable as it meant we missed breakfast.The early morning check out of 10am could/should be extended to a more reasonable time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Colin and Fiona were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to help us with tee times, etc..A nice break in the countryside if you've been staying in 'big' cities like Edinburgh during a trip through Scotland.Can't recommend highly enough.

Enjoyed our stay in the carriage. Pity the weather wasn't great but the scenery was fantastic. Colin was an excellent host and we will be back in the future.
